As we head towards the busiest time of the year for destination wedding bookings in Greece, now is the time to reflect on the past few months. Let’s think back to early 2021, there was still uncertainty around travel. Back then, it was very hard for couples who were planning weddings abroad to stay positive. Many postponed their nuptials for yet another year whilst others tried to stand firm, whilst keeping their eyes glued to every travel update either on the TV or online.
All the wedding suppliers in Greece remained flexible, informative, and kept their couples updated about the local situation in Greece, whilst dealing with their anxieties on a daily basis. And as the days passed, surprise, surprise, we had weddings!
The last-minute wedding.
From May 2021 our visitors returned to Greece. With the use of vaccination certificates and testing, couples finally had their chance to say ‘I do’ with their nearest and dearest present.
It was certainly the summer of the last-minute wedding. Wedding planners had to have all their skills in place to deal with last-minute arrangements for couples at the eleventh hour. These couples literally booked their weddings up just days in advance.
Intimate elopement weddings in Greece.
Intimate elopement-style weddings were trending and were always truly special. Pampas grass was a popular part of any ceremony setup! Couples chose, stunning florals, and amazing venues. Dinner for two, with fairy lights to set the scene, under the clear starry Grecian skies. Sounds amazing right?
Our expert Greek photographers and videographers and drone operators were there to capture every moment. Those local to the area always knew the perfect spot to get that amazing shot. Many couples had a live stream of their ceremony to any family and friends back home.
What do all destination weddings in Greece have in common?
Every destination wedding in Greece this summer, large or small, they all had something in common. This was a whole lot of happy tears! Some couples were already on their 2nd or 3rd wedding date and when their special day finally arrived, they couldn’t really believe it. We all cried a lot. The couple, their family and friends and all the wedding suppliers involved!
