Dreamy Micro Destination Wedding in Sivota
This Couple came all the way from Australia to have their Dreamy Micro Destination Wedding in Sivota, at the Ionian Coast.
Wedding planning has never been more challenging than during this past year. With restrictions on social gatherings across the country causing the cancelation, modification, and postponement of thousands of weddings. Thankfully…even a pandemic can’t cancel love, but a trend toward more intimate micro weddings has taken off.
Micro weddings are not a new concept. However, they’ve been popularised during the pandemic due to social distancing requirements and travel restrictions. A micro wedding is a step up from an elopement, which consists of just the couple or the couple plus a small wedding party. While there is no definitive limit on the size of a micro wedding, most planners and venues describe weddings of up to 25 or 30 people as micro weddings.
In this luxury Dreamy Micro Destination Wedding in Sivota Thesprotias, on the Greek mainland the couple flew to Greece from Australia. They hosted their closest friends for their secret and intimate elopement in Greece by the Ioannina Coast.
From Claire of Lefkas Wedding:
In their planning emails, they spoke excitedly about their trip to Greece and asked me to help them arrange a small ceremony and an intimate dinner. Although, somewhere a little more luxurious. Firstly, my thought was the Agios Nikolaos Suites. An intimate feel, 5 star, luxury hotel overlooking the off-shore islands of Sivota. Which are offering breathtaking views where lush green vegetation touches the beautiful white sandy beaches and the clear turquoise waters.
They wanted a rustic feel but in a style that suited the stylish design of the hotel. Therefore, the tablescape was a full garland of greenery, flowers and pink hypericum berries. To add to the romance of the occasion we mixed antique toned gold glass vases and candle votives amongst the foliage. Which certainly lit the evening beautifully.
The bride bouquet contained white and blush tones of roses, lisianthus, alstroemeria, astilbe and eucalyptus. The Bride wore the Saboya bridal gown by Rosa Clara. A fitted silhouette of silk crepe with exquisite beading on the cap sleeves and elegant back detail. Groom Ben, went for classic tailoring from Ted Baker impeccably cut from fine Italian; wool, ideal for daytime celebrations.
Dinner was served by candlelight on the terrace of Agios Nikolaos’ a la carte restaurant. Moreover, the guests enjoyed a variety of modern Greek cuisine including fresh lobster. I believe that smaller weddings allow the budget to stretch further and you are able to do more for fewer people. These days guest experience might be more important than décor. And here our couple took this opportunity to treat their guests to the best, fresh local seafood.
