Real Romantic Greek Island Destination Wedding
The Real Romantic Greek Island Destination Wedding of Lisa and Nick with pastel colours was a mix of blissful beach celebration and modern hotel luxe. Their romantic ceremony took place on the beach. While the couple stayed and the modern and minimal Crystal Waters hotel on Lefkada.
How did you meet?
My mum and Nick’s mum were part of the babysitter’s circle when we were young and lived on the same road. So both parents babysat for us. Nick and my brother grew up as best friends and we crossed paths over the years but finally got together in 2011. I lived in London and Nick in Bournemouth and we had a long-distance relationship for a while until I moved back to Bournemouth.
What is your proposal story?
We already had our little girl Mollie who was 10 months old and I was pregnant with our second. We went on holiday to Cyprus. Nick got down on one knee on our way to dinner ( though he was trying to pacify mollie who was in the pram) but he was ready to propose to me. A very precious moment just the 3 of us.
Tell us a little a bit about your romantic Greek Island destination wedding.
We wanted a beach wedding with a very relaxed vibe. We could not have wished for a more perfect day. Our romantic Greek Island destination wedding was everything we wanted and more. A chilled beach vibe, linen, bare feet…
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
We wanted our guests to have the best day, they had all traveled far and wide to spend our day with us so they were our priority. Flowing drinks and fabulous food was definitely our priority. We defiantly chose to not have an extravagant cake and spend the money on more free drinks behind the bar.
What were your favorite parts of the day?
My favorite memory of the day was the photoshoot with my husband. As well as having time to take in the momentous achievement and moment that had just taken place and just have a moment to breathe and appreciate it all.
Tell us about your wedding details.
I absolutely loved our flowers, the colors and simpleness was exactly what we wanted for our romantic Greek Island destination wedding. The cake is lovely but again, from previous weddings not for me the feature of the day. Instead of favors, we had a free bar, need I say more. For DIY, handmade, or personal details, my mother-in-law made the flower girl dresses and my mum and sister made the headbands. Everything was very personal and perfect. Having been a bridesmaid 13 times before I got married made me know exactly what I wanted for my special day.
We wanted to have a destination wedding and chose Lefkada. Our beach venue was absolutely stunning. We were so touched that although we chose for our wedding to be abroad we had 110 guests, we were and still are completely blown away that so many people wanted to share our special day with us. We will always look back at photos and our wedding video and remember the best day of our lives.
