Alpine Snowy Engagement at the Vermion Mountains
No, not Vermont from the States, but close enough! On this day when Greece is covered in snow, what better way to enjoy this snowy hygge love story?
This time we are traveling all the way to the Greek magical winter Vermion Mountain. For the most romantic winter engagement session you have seen yet! So, get a cup of coffee, snuggle up on your favorite sofa, and immerse yourself in this love story! Brought to you by George Kostopoulos Photography GK Studio.
From George:
“Petrina and Nasos are two true soulmates who could not imagine going on life’s journey with anyone other than each other. As from the first few moments of their acquaintance peace was an omnipresent feeling for both. Getting together was an unexpected gift according to Petrina and her beau just needed to create one more surprise for them to treasure. A sweet winter engagement shoot that would forever remind them of their five young and beautiful years together. We instantly clicked as both are such warm and welcoming individuals. We had so much in common, dreamy imagery and great taste among them.
I suggested they have an alpine engagement shoot at the snowed-in Vermion Mountains. First because white is the color of harmony – I saw so much of it in them! And second because in classical times the mountain was thought by Herodotus to be impassible. According to tradition, paradise was to be held on the other side. What better way to symbolize their everlasting love?
On the day:
The three of us happy campers set out for Tria Pente Pigadia. This ski resort is very popular among jet-setting alpinists and winter escape enthusiasts. That is to say, the dramatic peaks of northern Greece that lie almost seven feet between central and western Macedonia truly live up to the wonder behind the myth.
We set up a campfire and roasted and ground coffee beans, and my bride and groom-to-be enjoyed their hot cups cuddling in soft blankets. Petrina had a beautiful bouquet by Kipos Kalou, a small present from Nasos, made up of orchids, cymbidium, roses, scabiosa, eryngium, alstroemeria and eucalyptus in shades of burgundy, masala, deep reds and whites that popped out of the icy setting. In the meantime Nasos popped the question with a magnificent diamond he had been carrying in his pocket for months, looking for the perfect moment. The joy on their faces was unbelievable!
After a few hours, we ventured a bit further up. While offering some of the country’s most impressive scenery, deep green valleys, thick forests where wolves prowl, icy grey rock pinnacles and quaint stone villages where old traditions hold strong, were all covered in snow. Moreover, the lyrical beauty around us made this special couple feel as if they were far from 21st-century Europe. In short, it couldn’t get much sweeter or cozier.”
