Real Wedding in Parga the Greek Amalfi Coast
Characterised as the Greek Amalfi Coast, though with its own allure, the Epirus coast is enchanting. Its endless coastline dotted with seaside villages, dreamy beaches, mountain villages, archaeological sites and amazing landscapes is still widely undiscovered.
Parga knowns as the the Greek Amalfi Coast
Parga is a quaint seaside town, with colourful houses built like an amphitheatre on a hill leading up to a Venetian castle. They serves as your perfect base to explore the area. Although on the mainland, the atmosphere feels like an island. With its traditional whitewashed buildings, old streets filled with bougainvillea flowers and the surrounding hills full of olive groves.
Jessica and Ian knew they wanted a destination wedding. After visiting Parga, the Greek Amalfi Coast, they fell in love with the place and decided it was the perfect location for their special day. They enlisted the help of planner Claire at Lefkas Weddings to create the most wonderful day with the Mediterranean Sea as the backdrop. And photographer Lefteris Kalampokas was there to capture it all.
Planner Claire told us
“Both the venues had amazing sea views which provided great a backdrop to the day. The ceremony is a great hidden location with a leafy canopy of natural foliage and the romantic mood was set by classical duo SoulnPassion. The flowers were and mix of peony and roses with rustic eucalyptus and olive sprigs in the bouquets and decor. On the tables at Villa Rossa, candles and flowers mixed with antique gold/boho accents gave an intimate feel.
Parga’s picture-perfect layout clustered around the harbour meant the couple and guests were able to walk from the ceremony to Villa Rossa, a former mansion house on the seafront. I know one of Jessica and Ian’s favourite moments was the locals and holidaymakers cheering and applauding them as they walked hand in hand along the beachfront. It was something they’ll never forget!
The food was very important to Jessica and Ian. Therfeore, I felt that Villa Rossa’s attention to detail was the right choice for them as their venue. The team created a menu of meze dishes and salads. Furthermore, the Greek main dishes in a modern style packed full of flavour. Followed by a choice of desserts, cheeses and fruit.
The bride chose the Nanette gown by Enzoani, in mermaid style with gorgeous floral embroidered lace paired with the softest tulle. The captivating low back and two-tiered tulle train had all eyes on her for the journey down the aisle. Her bridesmaids wore midnight blue dresses from White by Vera Wang. Which stood out in the bright sunshine and echoed the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea. Neutral linen suits for the Groomsmen similar to the colour of the beach completed the look.”
Bride Jessica told us:
“We never wanted a big wedding, having always fancied a more intimate affair with those who we spend the most time with and know us the best. The place was beautiful and the food and drink was out of this world. There was a great atmosphere amongst the bars and restaurants in the harbour. We knew we would return and it made sense to plan the wedding there.
In November, we got engaged and wanted to get married in the spring. So we searched for wedding planners in Parga and came across Claire at Lefkas Weddings. We had no idea if our timescale was possible. But after a couple of chats with her, she reassured us that it was, so we didn’t hesitate to book and plan the wedding we had dreamed of! Having only our closest friends and family make the effort to fly out and share our special day altogether was really, quite humbling. Seeing it all come together, the sheer beauty of our surroundings and feeling the love and happiness of our friends and family was amazing. We got a holiday and made memories that would last a lifetime, without losing the intimacy and significance of why we were all there.”
