Australian Greek Boho Wedding Which Lasted Three Days
Wait till you see this Australian Greek Boho Wedding! Find out what happens when a Zolotas Australia Bridal owner ties the knot in Greece.
For instance, this bride and groom, Sophie and Ryan, celebrated their destination wedding for all 3 days!
That is to say, a welcome beach party, a boat tour to the blue lagoon and was the wedding day in the private villa in Paros! Moreover, they opted for a second days photo shoot to preserve the memories for ever!
From the Groom:
“We didn’t have to look far! We were next door neighbours when we met at the age of 10 in a suburb called Quinns Rocks in Perth where we live. And our wedding in July on Paros Island, Greece – It’s the Island Sophie grew up on before moving to Australia.
Sophie and I try to travel to Greece almost every year to visit family. We enjoy a month during the European summer and after 3 years, I decided that Sophie was the girl for me! I contacted a Greek jeweller in Perth who also has a big Greek family heritage by the name of Stelios. Stelios helped me in designing a ring I thought matched Sophie and the style she liked. A couple weeks later we left for Greece, I hid the ring in my socks in my luggage the entire time! I proposed to Sophie in her childhood home on the Island of Paros overlooking the picturesque Paros Bay. Just under 3 years later we tied the knot in that exact same spot!
Sophie owns Zolotas Australia Bridal in Perth. So of course was going to go with a stunning Zolotas dress handmade by the designer ‘VG Zolotas’. Her second dress was also from the same collection. Which every bride should certainly experience for her Australian Greek Boho Wedding like ours!
I wore a three piece suit that was handmade in Greece by The Gentlemen Experts by Atelier Zolotas, the jacket and vest were in ivory, cream colour with dark blue dress pants and a dark brown shoes with the bow tie matching the colour of the pants. Which was inspired by the Greek culture and the natural flowing, cool colours.
The Wedding
Finding a venue was easy for us!! The Ceremony was in Sophie’s childhood home and the Reception was a 30 meter walk, in her cousin’s villa! Our Australian Greek Boho Wedding was perfectly fitted in this setting.
The song we chose for our first dance was Just Breathe by Pearl Jam which I feel emphasises the togetherness and bond between each other. The simple moments of waking up next to each other and the feeling of love and how lucky you are to have found those feelings to share with one another. It started with the father-daughter dance. Which then Sophie’s father handed her to me for the first dance. This was in time to watch the fireworks being set off in the background which really made the moment a very special memory.
It was important to us that guests were hydrated and well fed day and night! We had welcome drinks before the ceremony. Such as lavender lemonade, fresh muddled strawberries in soda water and bottles of water. Straight after the ceremony we did a toast to our guests with a champagne tower. We went off for our photos, while our guests walked down to the reception where they were greeted with canapés and fresh cocktails to watch over the sunset. Of course we also had a midnight souvlaki snack that cane out at midnight!
We look back now and laugh that we did it, but we brought 120 plates over from Perth in our suitcases to Greece!! Everyone did say they loved the plates though! They were a grey marble plate and fitted with the theme of the wedding! Another favourite detail was purchasing our cigars from Dubai and having a ‘Cigar Bar’.
Overall, we can’t forget the live singer Louis Vlahakis was the big stand out for the evening, very talented and had such a wide range of songs he knew of which all he performed beyond your wildest imagination. Also Ramantanis Brothers who are a professional cocktail bar vendor/service! They presented very professionally and the service of all drinks behind the bar all night was unbelievable! If you are planning a wedding or celebration in Greece you would be missing out if you didn’t hire these two vendors.”
