Going back to what really matters. LOVE. In the spirit of post pandemic events, for the Best Real Wedding in Greece we chose this beautiful, minimal and true love story from Mykonos, which ticked all the boxes! Although, there was some tough competition from our previous issue, we could not look past this super fashionable and cool couple, where the bride made her own wedding dress! When A Haute Couture Fashion Designer Elopes in Mykonos
This super chic couple from Serbia decided to elope in Mykonos! Coming from the fashion world, they knew that Mykonos would be the perfect island for what they wanted.
It was finally the time for this Haute couture and bridal designer to design and create a dress for herself!
They had a small civil ceremony in the rustic town hall of Mykonos. After which they used the day to experience the island and absorb the Greek culture. Their Vow exchange was, intimate, raw, in the heart of the Mykonian wilderness. After which, they popped the Moët & Chandon Champagne to toast to their “Just Married”!
They opted for a gorgeous and inspirational photo session around the island! Tijana and Milos chose Danilo and Sharon Photography, some of the top wedding photographers catering to all the modern brides, to capture their whole wedding day!

How we choose the winner:
First and foremost, the wedding story must be published in our magazine in that year, to be considered for “The Best of” wedding AWARD by Ellwed.
We are always looking for unique ideas, we focus on the theme, trend factors and the overall look. To be nominated for the award, the wedding or a styled shoot has stand out. We are paying attention at the style and the quality of photography, as well as:
- The design
- New, inspirational ideas
- Different, unique elements
- The location – in Greece
- Magazine worthiness
- The story behind the shoot or wedding
- And to be current or up to date
The final decision is then down to personal and expert opinion.
To stay fair and unbiased, we exclude our Ellwed Cover Shoots from this award.
The winning wedding is announced in the last issue of Ellwed.
