BOHEME ELOPEMENT
From the photographer Nikos Makrakos: “This elopement wedding was inspired by the history of the castle town of Monemvasia in Greece. A modern bohemian aesthetic heavily referencing the Byzantine period. Monemvasia is certainly a small historic town in the eastern Peloponnese. The name is a compound word, coming from the two Greek words, Moni and Emvasis. Furthermore, the city was built on a limestone rock of the southeastern coast.”
From stylist Adelaide Design: “In curating the table scape, the focus was on sourcing natural materials, such as wood, metal, cotton and ceramics. Therefore, for the linen, we opted for natural linen. Furthermore, locally sourced, organic cotton runner came was Athens. The antique chargers were brass. The chairs were wood and the cutlery had a bone finish. What is more, each brass charger was completed with ivory and handicraft wood inlay boxes with intricate geometry design.
The stunning floral design, built from the color palette and from wanting to create lush, organic and wild florals with locally foraged greenery in a warm color palette. Furthermore, the reception dinner table was to be one where everything was bountiful and overflowing. Above all, the table was keeping the bohemian aesthetic, earthy and wildly romantic tone. While also being an authentic extension to the beautiful arch the table was set under. Finally, the couple, styled in unconventional colors such as nude and beige, brought in modern styling references.”
