Real stylish eco-conscious wedding from the cliffs of Sifnos
This stylish eco-conscious wedding of Kat and Jared was absolutely unique and truly special. And not because the bride is an international model and actress and the groom is the NYC director. But primarily because of the true and honest love towards all life and each other, these two beautiful souls share.
Kat & Jared wanted a sustainable, eco-conscious, yet stylish wedding in Greece, the groom’s heritage!
Katharina Rembi Fashion Model/Actress and Jared P.Scott Director live in New York City USA and they chose to get married on the small Island of Sifnos in Greece. However, this small, unspoiled Cycladic Island between Serifos and Milos was a perfect choice, as they wanted their stylish eco-conscious wedding to be as natural as possible.
Only reachable by Ferry, Sifnos is still preserving the old Island lifestyle. Their sixty-nine wedding guests arrived from all over Europe and the United States, one day before the big ceremony. Guests enjoyed the welcome drinks in the capital, Apollonia. Local food, drinks, and music brought both wedding couples parties together while enjoying the local traditions and delicacies.
The Stylish Eco-Conscious Wedding
The unforgettable and very personal ceremony was held on a cliff in Kastro village. With the gorgeous views of the Seven Martyrs Church and the ocean. The officiators Lara and Reed, the couple’s best friends, prepared an interactive ceremony in three different languages, English, German and Polish. This was the very first wedding held on the particular cliff and so it attracted the locals and tourists to celebrate with the couple.
After the ceremony, the busses took the wedding guest to their wedding venue Lazarou Beach in the village of Platis Gialos. Later on, dinner was served with Greek Specialties on the plateau above the sea. The couple insisted on local cuisine and décor for the tables from around the area in Greece. The wedding planner Bobbie made sure to keep the decoration simple, modern, and in touch with the surroundings of the island. The long white family-style tables looked so stylish, around the edges of the platform above the sea.
Despite being a summer wedding, it was windy throughout the day. As is to be expected on the Cycladic islands. The little wind, however, did not stop this wedding party from having fun. And really enjoying these special moments when everyone got to know each other better and dance the night away. The day ended with few brave guests and the couple swimming in the Aegean Sea until the first rays of the sun. The next day, the couple organized a Sunday brunch at their favorite local restaurant NUS in Platis Gialos.
Bridal Style
The bride, Katharina was wearing a dress especially handmade for this occasion by Paolo Corona Couture Designer from Paris. Inspired by Grecian culture, the dress was a two-part piece, where Kat removed the first part for the reception. The ceremony gown nestles with clean lines around the body and accentuates the waist with parts of the fabric flying loose, to portray the tribute to the ancient Greeks. Very chic Hellenic and Goddess-like.
The second part of the dress has a long slit along the legs with a tight waist. A thin shawl raps around the open back and neck. Bride’s unique dress was made out of reused fabrics. To be on-brand with this wedding’s eco-conscious values. Taking it a step further, their wedding rings are custom made out of recycled silver and a morganite stone for Katharina’s ring.
Kat opted for the relaxed beach style hair and minimal natural makeup to show her natural beauty. As Kat and Jered come from the fashion and film world, it was only inevitable that their wedding will be unique and fashionable. They had some of the industry’s best professionals at their stylish eco-conscious wedding. Nonetheless, their priority was simple and natural with the hint of glamor, of course!
