Christmas Proposal Turned To Glam Wedding By The Sea Despite Covid-19 Pandemic
This couple from Greece decided to celebrate their wedding Despite Covid-19 Pandemic! If anything, this real bride’s story will show you that love truly can win and withstands the tests of time during this Covid-19 pandemic.
From the bride:
I met George few years ago at the beautiful island of Naxos. We were both going there, for work. It was at different times, so our meeting was totally by chance, without us knowing it!!
I was at Christmas time when George proposed! It was one beautiful Christmas afternoon I saw that Santa had left something special under the Christmas tree. It was a small cute box, different from all the other times! Santa Claus disappeared, but George was there asking for my hand in marriage. A true Christmas proposal miracle!
Despite changing our dates two times before, due to Covid-19 pandemic, we finally got to celebrate our wedding in July 2020! The ceremony took place in Agios Andreas N. Makri while the wedding party followed at the venue next to the church.
We really liked the idea of getting married on an island and specifically in Naxos. But we couldn’t do this because of the pandemic. However, we really like the summer and the sea, so we tried to find that island style and something closer to our wishes by finding something close to the sea. And we succeeded! We found a wonderful place with the church almost on the water! I loved the colors and the style of that place and the exceptionally beautiful flowers created by our florist, Paris Flowers, made this place unique.
At the end of all this craziness, our big day had finally come! The summer mood and our joy where the basic elements which created a very light mood with no stress. From the morning of our preparations, until the time of saying our I Do’s. Songs, laughter, friends, and relatives were the recipe to start this beautiful day with our special magical ceremony. Followed by the wild party with our guests, as it was the last time! Endless dance, fun and party accompanied us until the morning hours in our impressive venue. We had a very good collaboration with the excellent catering OLON who took care of your guests till the morning hours. And an equally beautiful collaboration with the Ninemia Venue.
All the while our photographer Christina Vardali was with us, capturing every moment! She was also our first contact and help when we had to postpone our wedding.
I wore a beautiful romantic, off-white laced Riki Dalal bridal dress while my husband was dressed in dusty blue Hugo Boss, to set that luxury Greek island mood and style.
Our first dance song was to Μικρα Βαγγαλικά, Eleonora Zouganeli! A song that we listened together from the beginning of our relationship!
Our next day session took place at the famous Lake Marathon in Athens and the local Schinias beach. Walking on this Athenian dam just the two of us and with this big lake on one side, was something out of the movie!
It was a really moment for us, despite the Covid-19 pandemic. And we managed to have all our friends and relatives there! We had a wonderful time, which can you tell from our smiles! Although my favorite moment was when I arrived at the church. There were people everywhere, all beautifully decorated and there in the middle was George, love of my life, waiting for me! I had all these feelings of joy, emotion and impatience to get close to him, rushing though me that moment! And I will never forget that!
