Whimsical Millennial Real Greek Wedding Story
Today’s exciting post is coming from a special couple. We can’t wait to share with you this Greek Millennial love story!
Eleana met Dimitris just a few months before the engagement ring landed on her finger. They had only 3 months to arrange the perfect wedding, so they did!
This simple, yet romantic and unique wedding will show you that you don’t need a lot of fuss to have the time of your life! Above all, the important thing is to share it with the people you love and to do it your way! Former DJ marrying a DJ is just an epic story of whim and whimsical moments that will inspire you to have your own unique story to share!
From the bride:
“At first I decided to sew my own wedding dress but as the time was passing by, I thought it would be easier and cheaper to find one. So, I ordered my dress online. In fact, the groom’s costume costed 3 times more than my wedding dress! The wedding actually took place at a city hall with nice outer space. I could walk along the isle, as it was a religious ceremony. So, I got in a luxurious rented Mercedes with my brother and cousin that accompanied me to the city hall. Dimitris was absolutely thrilled as he wasn’t expecting me with short hair (I had a haircut the day before). My bouquet was from a local flower shop, matching the dress and a wooden box for our rings. Most importantly, we were happy to share our unusual civil wedding day with 60 of our closest friends and family! Instead of the Greek tradition bobonieres (Greek favors for guests) we ordered a well-known sweet from Lesvos, in the shape of a flower.
The reception, was placed near the city hall for both families and some friends. This is also where we cut our special wedding cake, as I love all things tropical. The big party was taking place at a friend’s house at Psurri, where 120 people waited for our arrival with sparklers or hand-held fireworks. Big balloons, photo props, colorful lights and the best sound were set up to make this party unforgettable for everyone.
To sum up, this “journey” started at noon and finished at the early morning hours. Moreover, it was a big day full of love and happiness. Our day was truly unique and magical and we would not have done it any other way!”
Eleana is now working on her own new brand, so stay tuned to see what will come next. Now, check out their very different and unique Millennial Greek wedding!
