A Very Greek Wedding from the Island of Naxos in Greece
See this Very Greek Wedding from the Island of Naxos!
Greek weddings have a lot of different traditions, such as writing on the bride’s shoe, or shaving of the groom.
To complete the Greek wedding tradition, our beautiful bride chose to wear high-end traditionally handmade Greek wedding dress by Atelier Zolotas. After preparations, the ceremony happened in the traditional Greek church with the traditional “big fat Greek wedding” party. The night ended with fireworks and dancing till the sunrise…you can almost hear the “OPA” from the photos!
The whole event was captured by Stefan Fekete, Andrada Dumitriu and Michele Witteveen
From Stefan and Andrada about this Wedding from the Island of Naxos:
“This was our third time in Naxos and it felt so good to be back. Meeting old friends and making new ones, is an amazing experience. Every time we go back home from this magical island, we leave a piece of our hearts here. But, we also take with us beautiful memories of the lovely people we have met along with our stay and our couple, Dimitra and Giannis, are two of them.
Dimitra’s and Giannis’s wedding was one of the biggest weddings we ever attended and the first to actually be 100% Greek.
Dimitra had a very beautiful handmade wedding dress with special embroidery from Atelier Zolotas, which was one of our favorite dresses, ever!
The party took place at their private villa, Archeon Kalos. We are sure that once you come here at this dreamy location, you won’t want to leave ever again. The estate was designed by Dimitra’s beautiful and talented mother, Maria, which you can find at the Epavlis shop, on Naxos island.
Thank you, Dimitra and Giannis, for allowing us to be a part of your VEry Greek Wedding from the Island of Naxos!
And especially to our friend, Michele, for giving us the opportunity to work with her (always fun) and to be able to experience this 100% Greek wedding. We will never forget it!”
