Elopement Shoot on a Historic Yacht in Athens Riviera with All Elements in One
This Elopement Shoot on a Historic Yacht was absolutely fate!
It all started with an idea for a Giveaway Elopement for one lucky couple coming to Greece! During the pandemic, we approached Niki Romanou from Seat Next To You and she was absolutely excited to take on this project, she contacted Nikos Mylonas, who was our photographer at this event!
Together, we set to make someone’s dreams come true with a free elopement shoot tailored to their story, wishes and styles! Alice and Daniele were the lucky winners of this amazing Ellwed Giveaway with Seat Next To You and Nikos Mylonas Photography. And let me tell you, it was absolutely fate! Niki helps couples curate experiences across Greece and they really connected with Alice and Daniele, for their experience involved around their shoot in Athens.
After we met the couple they confided in us that it was their dream to get married in Greece and were hoping to work with our photographer Nikos Mylonas. Nonetheless, their dreams were derailed due to lockdowns and this giveaway was like a sign to them to make their dreams a reality!
Both sailors at heart, Niki designed and organized this Elopement Shoot on a Historic Yacht just for them! At Seat Next To You they understand that travel style is one of the many wonderful things that makes each person unique, and Niki collaborates closely with the couple to tailor every element of their trip.
From Niki Romanu of Seat Next To You:
“love is
― F.Farai
all elements combine.
freedom of air,
stability of earth.
heat of fire,
calmness of water.
love is
all elements combined.
– all elements in one.”
It was spring 2021. I remember when Nikos and I first met Alice and Daniele via Zoom to discuss our plans for their Elopement Shoot on a Historic Yacht in Athens. Alice and Daniele shared their story with us. How they met, what they do, their destination wedding postponement due to COVID-19 and their civil marriage in Trieste, Italy. They also shared with us their most recent and exciting news yet! They had just found out that they were going to be a family of three by fall! We couldn’t be happier for them of course! Nonetheless, our initial shoot ideas were somewhat dismissed considering this news. And so, we immediately started to brainstorm on new concepts for their Elopement Shoot on a Historic Yacht.
I remember how calm, but on the other hand, inspired and enthusiastic I was after our call. I couldn’t stop thinking about the shoot and their story. Their unfussiness, their passion about life, their thirst to explore. Their longing for the sea and to simply be present, in the moment, spoke directly to my heart.
Our target date for their shoot experience in Athens was early June. However, with travel restrictions still in place, we knew that the only way we could make this happen is by planning carefully, staying flexible, and of having back up options readily available.
For this we absolutely needed to engage the right team of suppliers. And so, in just a couple of weeks, we brought together a fantastic team of professionals who got immediately on board and made sure every single detail was taken care of.
The Elopement Shoot on a Historic Yacht
Inspiration and perfect backdrop for this shoot was nature. Moreover, our connection to the five basic elements – earth, water, air, fire, and aether – that compose the Universe and everything within.
Earth grounds and holds; water soothes and heals; air refreshes and revives; fire is a burning reminder of our own will and creativity; aether is the power of life, the life force. By connecting with them and understanding their presence in us, we become aware of our connection with nature and our relationship with the divine. Above all, maintaining a balance between these elements enhances our physical and psychological well-being.
A sailing experience in the Athens Riviera at sunset time would encompass all five elements. So we couldn’t wait to pitch the idea to Alice and Daniele who thankfully were as thrilled as we were at the prospect of shooting at sea being sailing aficionados themselves.
Searching for the right sailing boat for this type of project can be a daunting experience. However. with the help and constant support from our partners at Luxury Yacht Parties Greece, we managed to secure ‘Aello’! A century-old yacht, otherwise known as ‘the queen of the Mediterranean Sea’.
Being on board this incredible sailing yacht, as the sun was setting and experiencing all these moments together felt kind of surreal at times. None of us had experienced anything similar before this Elopement Shoot on a Historic Yacht. And we were all so grateful to connect, learn from one another, have fun, and create memories.
I’ll never forget what Alice and Daniele told us days after their Elopement Shoot on a Historic Yacht:
‘It’s hard to describe how otherworldly this day was. It seemed as if all elements were put together to celebrate love and new life. Amidst these uncertain times and constant changes, your team offered us a true moment of bliss. We felt ‘at home’, surrounded by friends who we share the same aesthetics, love for life and values with and this is special. That certainly does not happen every day’.
Thank you all for this dreamy experience and the fabulous memories. We did not get married as planned due to Covid-19. But if we will, we’d love for you to accompany us and do this all over again together!’
The vibe of this shoot is soft and ethereal, the elegance of simplicity is showcased in every scene. With a colour palette that blends both light and dark hues, and every single detail embodying effortless beauty and grace.
Alice and Daniele are all about natural looks with minimal makeup. An elevated style which blends minimalism and sophistication bringing together the precise combination of forms, colours, and light. To give you that rare moment of simple and uncluttered calm, where time seems to stand still.
Thank you for being here and we hope you enjoy the content as much as we enjoyed the day!
