The Lovestory: How It All Began
After nine years together in Paris, the city where it all began, it was time for Léa to leave. A new chapter was calling her to the U.S., while Paul would stay behind a little longer.
For their last weekend in the city, Léa asked for one final cliché Parisian date. Something sweet and silly to say goodbye to the place that had seen so much of them. Naturally, Paul went all in.

He rented a tiny boat on the Seine. Because what’s more cliché than cruising past Parisian monuments with the wind in your hair and the city glowing around you? Léa, thinking she was just getting the cheesy moment she asked for, took the wheel, laughing as the boat bobbed along the water.

But right there, in the middle of the river, Paul got down on one knee! Carefully, wobbly, trying not to tip them overboard and asked her to marry him. And just like that, the river wasn’t the only thing overflowing.

The Planning Process of This Seaside Wedding With Lemon Decor
This seaside wedding was all about lemons and lots of them! Blue views & lemon hues, lets see how this stylish Destination Wedding came to life. Their wedding planners Cybelle from Kiveli Weddings explains the story behind.

Inspired by the couple’s playful personalities, we embraced a contemporary yet lighthearted aesthetic for their wedding. Early on, the bride shared a charming anecdote. The very first thing they bought together was a lemon tree, which naturally led us to lemons becoming a central motif of the celebration.

With this in mind, we curated a design that reflected chic simplicity and Mediterranean elegance, all while preserving an effortless, welcoming atmosphere. For the reception, we envisioned the intimacy of ONE long shared table bringing everyone together, so we creatively joined round tables together in a wavy/twisted style to achieve a more contemporary feel.

Finally, the culinary experience was a true celebration of Greek and Mediterranean flavors, complemented by local Greek wines, allowing guests to savor the region’s rich gastronomic culture in a warm & cozy setting.

A Modern Seaside Wedding Day in Greece with a Lemon Twist
The ceremony followed the traditions of the Greek Orthodox Church, which does not allow music or readings during the service. For their entrance as a couple, they selected “You & Me (Rivo Remix)” by Disclosure, Eliza Doolittle, and Rivo. A vibrant and emotional choice that set the tone for the evening.

Instead of sharing their vows during the ceremony, the couple chose a more personal moment: they exchanged their vows just before the first dance, with “Soul Swap” by Kimbu playing softly in the background.

Their first dance was anything but ordinary. They performed it while rapping along together to their chosen song, creating a moment full of energy and personality. The celebration reached its peak with the final song performed by the live band, “A Sky Full of Stars” by Coldplay, during which the couple cut their wedding cake, surrounded by loved ones and an atmosphere full of joy.

The dress features a corset-style bodice that gently shapes the waist and a strapless sweetheart neckline that frames the shoulders. The skirt flows in light, sheer layers, giving the gown an elegant and graceful feel. Overall, it creates a vibe that’s timeless, feminine, and full of quiet beauty.

“Koumbara’s” or Bridesmaid’s Dress
Maje Paris bridesmaid dress is effortlessly chic, crafted in a soft, flowing satin fabric in a distinctive khaki hue that echoes the olive trees of Greece and the natural beauty of the surroundings. It features a wrap-style silhouette with a gentle V-neckline and fluttery short sleeves, creating an elegant yet relaxed look. The skirt drapes beautifully with subtle pleats and an asymmetric hem that adds movement and grace. The earthy color and graceful style tie perfectly into the wedding’s nature-inspired theme, offering a refined, contemporary feel that blends seamlessly with the Mediterranean setting.

Groom & Groomsman
The groom and his “koumbaro” or groomsman exuded timeless sophistication, both dressed in matching black tuxedos from BOSS. The tuxedos featured sleek lines and a classic silhouette that conveyed elegance and modernity. Each ensemble was paired with a crisp white shirt and a sharp black bow tie, adding a touch of formal refinement. The deep black fabric offered a striking contrast to the natural, sunlit surroundings. Together, their coordinated look perfectly complemented the wedding’s chic, contemporary aesthetic.

Wedding Colors
The branding and decor were thoughtfully built around a radiant, monochromatic yellow color palette; inspired by the color of lemons, which served as the primary visual theme throughout the entire event. To enhance its warmth and vibrancy, we complemented this dominant hue with soft, elegant accents of white and olive green, creating a balanced and inviting aesthetic that felt both fresh and timeless.

The Mediterranean Flavours
For the food and drinks, we highlighted Greek and Mediterranean cuisine by partnering with a premium local Greek caterer with a stellar reputation since 1996. During the cocktail hour, we featured a Caprese salad skewer with basil pesto and sun-dried tomato
and Tartlet with spinach, mushrooms & pine seeds. Paired with the couple’s signature drinks: lavender fizz and summer passion. As for the drinks, we opted for Greek local wine from the best regions of Greece for wine making, Peloponnese. On top, the guests enjoyed a premium open bar all night long.

The Interactive Dinner Experience
For dinner, we curated a rich and interactive buffet experience that paid tribute to Greek culinary heritage. With a strong focus on local flavors and seasonal ingredients. Guests began their gastronomic journey with an array of elegant appetizers, including traditional spinach pie with leeks, fennel, and Tinos graviera cheese, delicate eggplant rolls filled with vegetable spaghetti in a smoked tomato-basil sauce, and a flavorful quiche with goat cheese, prosciutto from Evrytania, and rocket pesto. A standout feature was the artisanal Greek cheese platter, meze-like grazing station showcasing regional specialties. Pecorino from Amfilochia, Metsovone, Ladotyri from Mytilene, Chloro from Santorini, and Kasseri from Xanthi, beautifully complemented by breads, crackers, dried fruits, honey, and marmalades.

A vibrant salad stand offered refreshing combinations, from classic Cretan salad and citrus-dressed greens to a shrimp, asparagus, and avocado mix with truffle-scented vinaigrette.
For warm mains, guests enjoyed a variety of live cooking stations. A pasta stand where chefs prepared orecchiette with fresh seafood in a saffron-turmeric cream and bucatini with wild mushrooms and smoked mozzarella. A rich risotto station with porcini, portobello, and truffle. And a barbecue sand offering succulent pork rotisserie glazed with honey, green apple juice, and lemon thyme.

The meat carving station served cedar-planked beef strip loin and organic chicken tagliata, paired with a selection of aromatic sauces, while the fish carving station featured herb-crusted salmon drizzled with a soy, mirin, and yuzu glaze. Colorful side dishes like buttered root vegetables and rosemary-scented baby potatoes rounded out the main course.

The Greek-Infused Dessert Station
Dessert was a visual and indulgent delight, with a mini buffet of brownies with white chocolate chips, syrupy Greek classics, raspberry and caramel tartlets, and assorted dessert shots like almond, tiramisu, and cheesecake. Fresh summer fruits added a light, refreshing note, while the bespoke celebration cake offered a personalized finale. A live loukoumades station stole hearts late into the night, serving warm Greek doughnuts drizzled with thyme honey, walnuts, cinnamon, and scoops of velvety ice cream. An irresistible end to an unforgettable feast.

Seaside Wedding Lemon Décor
Couple’s playful personalities and their love for the unexpected inspired us to craft a wedding design that was both contemporary and delightfully lighthearted. Early in the planning process, the bride shared a sweet anecdote. The first thing the couple ever bought together was a lemon tree. That small, symbolic gesture quickly grew into the heart of the wedding’s design narrative, with lemons becoming the signature motif of the celebration. And so, instead of flowers, we designed contemporary centrepieces with real lemons. There was actually few flowers at this wedding.

Drawing from this inspiration, we embraced a fresh, modern take on Mediterranean elegance. Clean lines, vibrant citrus tones, and whimsical details blended together to create a look that was effortlessly stylish yet full of warmth. Lemons were thoughtfully incorporated throughout the décor. Not just as a visual accent but as a thread connecting the entire day. From tablescapes adorned with clusters of fresh lemons, every detail echoed that initial spark of joy and spontaneity the couple shared.

For the reception layout, we wanted to foster connection and a sense of togetherness. Instead of the traditional arrangement of round tables, we joined them in a flowing, wavy formation to create one continuous shared table. A symbolic gesture of unity and a visually striking contemporary centerpiece for the evening. The combination of clean white linens, sculptural candleholders, and lemon-yellow accents struck the perfect balance between modern sophistication and playful charm.

The White Wedding Cake
The cake was filled with traditional Greek almond sponge, chosen for its rich, delicate flavor. Its design embraced a modern aesthetic, perfectly aligned with the overall contemporary decor. As the couple cut the cake, 100 sparklers lit up its top. A magical touch to the moment, while they playfully used a bubble gun, creating a fun and unforgettable celebration scene.
